Draw Your Feelings (children’s activity)
Hi friends!
Did you know your feelings can show up in your face and your drawings? Today, we’re going to learn how to draw different emotions like happy, sad, angry, and more— using shapes, colors, and imagination.
Are you ready to turn your feelings into art? Let’s go!
Emotion #1: Happy
What does a happy face look like? Big smile, eyes wide open, eyebrows lifted.
Draw two big dots for the eyes. Add a nose and a big, curved smile.
Ask yourself: What makes me feel happy?
Emotion #2: Sad
What does a sad face look like? Frown or downturned mouth, droopy eyes, maybe a tear or two.
Draw a face with a frown.
Draw the eyes looking down.
What makes you feel a little sad? It’s okay to feel that way sometimes.
Emotion #3: Angry
Angry faces are bold!
Eyebrows slant down, mouth is flat or growling. Face might be red or scrunched up.
Draw a face with slanted eyebrows. Draw the mouth as a straight or zigzag line.
What do you do when you feel mad?
Emotion #4: Scared
Scared faces have wide eyes, raised eyebrows and a tense or open mouth.
Draw big wide eyes, eyebrows pointing up, an open mouth like yelling. Add wiggly lines around the head, like it's shaking.
What helps you feel safe again when you’re scared?

Every feeling matters — and drawing is a fun way to express them.
When we draw our emotions, we learn how to name them, share them, and feel a little better inside. And that helps us to understand what our friends might be feeling, too.
